Chuck Westfall, capo de Canon USA, dice respodiendo a unas preguntas que el espejo no se caerá.
Alguien, con cierto sarcasmo, ha comentado que es cosa buena que a una cámara que lleva un espejo no se le caiga este. Ver en:

"The first generation 5D was plagued with incidences of the reflex mirror coming apart from its frame, apparently when shooting in high heat, high humidity changes. Has the 5D's mirrorbox assembly been carried over unmodified to the 5D MarkII, or have there been changes to more securely affix the mirror?
Respuesta:
The mirror assembly of the EOS 5D Mark II has an extra set of clips to secure the main reflex mirror and prevent it from loosening unintentionally. Anyone who has an issue with the reflex mirror of the original 5D should contact a Canon Factory Service Center for assistance.
Thanks, Chuck. I'd read that repairing the mirror in the original 5D involved replacing the entire mirror box. Is this because the replacement assembly incorporates these extra clips as well?
Hi, Garland:
According to Canon USA's Factory Service Center, repairing the original 5D's mirror assembly for this issue does not involve replacing the mirror box, and the 5D Mark II design is not being retrofitted to the original 5D. But this is a Service issue, and as I said earlier, anyone who has an issue with the reflex mirror of the original 5D should contact a Canon Factory Service Center for assistance."
