Dear Mr. Izquierdo,
Many thanks for your e-mail inquire and your interest in our products. Be informed, your mecablitz 44 AF-4C expect the signals of any Canon camera via ist foot contacts. Just from that moment on the centre pin is given free for triggering the flash. Otherwise not. Unfortunately, a software update to set the centre pin free is not possible.
On other hands, a senseful light output control is only possible if your flash would be equipped with apertures for auto flash mode but, it isn't. Therefore, always a fulpower flash would be triggered leading to overexposure. Also, the batteries of your 44 would be goes exhausted very quick.
For wireless automatic flash mode with a regulated light (controlled by flash) we recommend to use a mecablitz 58 AF-1C. This flash unit has a centre contact which is always given free for wireless use AND 12 apertures to control ist light.
Also, a 58 AF-1C can be used in addition in a socalled "wireless E-TTL remoate flash mode" controlled by camera. But, for that purpose you do need another second flash mounted on camera's hot shoe or the Canon infrared controller ST E-2.
We hope we could be in assistance to you and remain
with best regards
Lutz Goeschel
